What are the dates for Surf ‘N’ Safari?

What is the registration fee?
$249.
Is there a discount for early registration?
Yes, register by 12/31/2009 and save $24.
What does the registration fee include?
Four days of Miata fun! Upon arrival you will receive an event goodie bag, event t-shirt, event pin, and raffle ticket. Welcome Reception, Friday Dinner, and Saturday Banquet are included. Also included are drinks and snacks at the SDMC Hospitality Suite.
Is there a maximum number of registrations?
Yes, we are limited to 250 registrations.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
As with any event of this size, it is necessary to adhere to a deadline for cancellations. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Event Chairperson and must be received by no later than 4/30/2010 to receive a refund. A $25 processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount. No refunds will be honored after 4/30/2010. Refund checks will be mailed to the registrant within two weeks of the cancellation request.

Is the hotel offering special rates for this event?
The special rate of $147 plus applicable taxes is offered to event participants. When registering be sure to inform the hotel that you are attending the San Diego Miata Club event.
Can I get the special rate if I arrive early or plan to extend my stay?
Yes, the special rate will apply to days prior to and after the event.
What amenities does the hotel offer?
Will there be a vendor mall at this event?
Yes, we will have an indoor vendor mall with an area for small installations. Surf ‘N’ Safari 2004 had 31 vendors participating. Click here to see a list of vendors that will be participating in Surf 'N' Safari '10.
Will there be a Hospitality Suite at this event?
Yes, the San Diego Miata Club will host a hospitality suite that will be open to participants from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day during the event.

What to bring?
Will there be an area to wash my Miata?
Yes, we have arranged with Pala Mesa for a car washing area. Please be sure to bring your own towels as these will not be provided by the hotel.
I’m a member of SDMC. Do I have to stay at the hotel to participant in this event?
That is up to you. Many members found that it was more fun to stay at the event venue with past Surf ‘N’ Safari's.
I’m a member of SDMC and only want to come to the banquet. Is this possible?
Unfortunately, to participate in the evening activities you must be a registered participant. Most of the registration fee pays for the Welcome Reception, Friday Dinner, and Saturday Banquet with entertainment.
I’m a member of SDMC and won’t be registering for Surf ‘N’ Safari. Can I still participate in the runs and visit the vendor mall?
Yes, you can participate in the runs and visit the vendor mall. We would also encourage you to sign up as a volunteer for many of the jobs that need to be filled to run this event.
